Find Your Fit with Physics
Non-science major
It is not unusual for someone who majors in sociology, political science, english literature or some other non-science field to be interested in a physics course. If you are one of those people, or you just find physics interesting, take a course. Discover what we are about with some of the finest professors ASU has to offer.
Science-related major
Students who are in a science-related major want to work among the finest researchers, teachers and mentors in the field today. Our professors have been nationally recognized for research in science education, are fellows of the most prestigious science organizations such as the American Physical Society, and are noted authors, among other fine achievements. This would give any student majoring in engineering, life sciences, psychology, kinesiology or any other science-related field the opportunity to be educated by premium educators in the science arena.
Honors student
The physics department currently offers reserved classes for honors students. These classes are designed so students work with a small group of other students who are academically talented to bring together a challenging experience. Look for courses PHY 121 and PHY 131 carrying footnote number 19.
We also offer Footnote 18 courses. These are physics courses that honors students may be interested in taking, but aren’t offered as tailored classes for honor students. Footnote 18 courses can be located online and in our catalog.
Students will need instructor permission to enter any footnote courses.
