Cell behavior is determined by gene expression, which is constantly regulated by a complex network of interacting feedback loops. Behavior is robust despite inescapably large fluctuations in the molecular regulation of genes - due to the small copy number of molecules (transcription factors) which perform the regulation. In this project, we will explore the effects of fluctuations on some simple genetic circuits using stochastic process theory and computer simulation.
