You will investigate the various pathways that a protein can traverse, between two distinct conformations, say an open and closed state. This will use the "pathways" software recently completed in my group - http://pathways.asu.edu. This web-based software steers a protein between two known conformations in real time, and hence allows the nature of the pathway to be studied - is it a broad highway or many branching country roads etc.
If you think you might be interested in this project, please see me the last week in August. The graphic shows an example of a protein moving between two conformations.
