The department of Physics at Arizona State University seeks applicants for a postdoctoral research scholar to work in the field of biological sample delivery for X-ray lasers.

The successful applicant will work with the National Science Foundation's BioXFEL Science and Technology Center (STC) (, a consortium of six US campuses devoted to the application and development of X-ray lasers for biology. This supports the research programs of seven faculty at ASU, where a compact campus XFEL is under construction. He/she will work under the supervision of Prof J. Spence and collaborate with other BioXFEL faculty, while also conducting original research. This may involve the use of our two-photon 3D printer for microfluidic mixing devices to enable time-resolved X-ray crystallography and solution scattering at XFELs. Applicants should hold a doctorate or equivalent degree in a relevant field of science, such as physics, bioengineering, biophysics, fluid dynamics, microfluidics or chemistry.
