Our rigorous and stimulating physics programs help you master the fundamental laws of natural science while engaging with faculty in first-rate research on the forefront of knowledge.
You’ll enjoy small-group workshops and immersive academics in a physics department that has sustained national and international leadership in electron diffraction physics, high-resolution electron microscopy and many other research areas. In addition, our dedicated faculty will impart you with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in a variety of fields, including science, engineering, education, medicine, law and so much more.
Your undergraduate journey in physics starts with your application to join our department. When you apply to ASU, you’ll declare a major or minor in physics, biophysics or PhysTEC (physics and secondary education).
Our department holds the conviction that the ability to excel in physics – both in the classroom and as a career – is independent of gender. We hold the same to be true for race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and disability status.
